  1. awesome site because i love tacos too and have been eating these passable but ultimately gross ones from chipotle. thanks you are doing a great service here.

will begin my search/survey in queens this weekend.

  2. Agent Taco Says:

Thanks! Hey, Chipotle tacos are (a little) better than no tacos at all!

Keep us posted on good spots in Queens! We have one on our radar already, but need more!

  3. Nick Douglas Says:

Hey Agent M, I’m editing a book of witty Twitter messages (HarperCollins, Fall 09) and I’d really like to print this one you wrote:

“There’s nothing in the rule book that says a giraffe can’t play football.”

May I use that? I’ll attribute it to you of course.

  4. Agent Taco Says:

Nick, that sounds awesome, but I can’t claim credit to that quote. It’s a line from the short-lived animated series Clone High. 😦

  5. Nick Douglas Says:

My god, you’re right. Can’t believe I forgot about that line.

  6. Agent Taco Says:

But, hey, if any of my other Tweets make it in, gimme a shout. I’ll give it a plug.

  7. Hi,
I love your blog and I just tagged you on a recent article I did about some amazing tacos I had at the Palmilla in Cabos.(story link attached above) I may be in NYC in the next week and would love to meet you. I will be sure to post your RSS on the Denver Examiner as well.

  8. Agent Taco Says:

Woo! Sounds like fun. Are you on Twitter? Hit me up there if you can. @Agent_M

  9. tinytulip Says:

You two are amazing. I cannot tell you how your posts to twitter make me crave tacos. They got it right when they said you are most influential, Mr. Agent Taco. And with your zaniness, I just had to meet the lady who puts up with all of it. So I have started following badcoverversion. I can’t wait to see the banter between the two of you. Keep having fun and send some of those yummy tacos to Florida.

  10. SoulGunner Says:

Tacos are always best served out of a kitchen on wheels behind a tire shop named “Victors”! Good hunting

  11. Agent Taco Says:

Kris, that’s one of the sweetest things we’ve read from someone whom we’ve never met. Hopefully we can share a taco dinner sometime.

  12. Kristie Says:

So, after following you on Twitter for a bit and for other reasons, I’ve decided to check out your Taco Blog. I have to say I’m impressed by your taco knowledge. When ever I get a moment to go to NY, I’ll have to try out some of your favs. Being Mexican also makes me a bit of a taco smart ass so I’m counting on you.

If you are in Seattle, you should go to El Puerco LLoron. The Carne Asada tacos are amazing.

Keep up the quest for taco.

  13. Agent Taco Says:

I appreciate the compliments immensely! I’ve studied hard. And by studied, I mean I’ve eaten a LOT of tacos. 🙂
Elizabeth (badcoverversion) lived in Seattle for a bit, so if we ever go back, it’ll be a whirlwind trip!

  14. Renée Says:

My taco pick is definitely MiNiditos in Tucson, Arizona. Of course, the rolled chicken variety I’m talking about are called flautas and they’re best served (now!) with a side of beans, rice and guacamole. Mmmm! Now I’m really craving them. Sigh. Anyway, if you ever want to sponsor me to travel the world in search of the perfect taco, I’m SO there. Now I need to work out how to ‘tweet’ you. I’m very new to Twitter: http://www.twitter.com/reneebarber.

  15. Agent Taco Says:

    Mmmm, flautas are so gooood.

  16. I_Am_Ninja Says:

There is a place here in town(Seymour, Indiana), just a small local place, that makes some killer steak tacos. They make their own shells and everything, but they ray of shining light that is this place, is their green sauce. The best desrciption I can give is ‘liquid awesome’. Fresh steak + cliantro + green sauce + homemade shell = ninja fuel = fact.

  17. Agent Taco Says:

Amen! Good green sauce is the stuff that dreams are made of!

  18. Rob Saenz Says:

    Hey Ryan,

I have been following you on Twitter for awhile and really appreciate your revolving view of my late childhood (AKA Marvel) as well as your great love for that great hallmark of civilized food.

I’m from San Antonio, TX, so yeah… you should go down there sometime. I could take you some places (although you can’t go wrong). It begins in South Texas for me when it comes to tacos.

I wanted to bounce something off you. I have a couple thousand comics (mostly Spider-man and X-books) that I have in bags and boards up in my closet. Rather than preserving them like a museum or just piecing them and selling them on eBay. I was thinking of taking inventory and putting together an auction to send some Ethiopians to school at a school our church is starting – or perhaps using it to combat trafficking.

Have you heard of something like this being done before?

  19. brooke Says:

there’s new taco/burrito joint near union square, dos torros (4th ave btw 13/14 sts). i tried it for lunch and thought you might like to give it a try.

it’s a couple of guys trying to bring california-style mexican food to the city.

chicken burrito with guac that i had was passable. i mean, it’s not east bay quality mexican but decent for the city. i’d go back but wouldn’t trek for it.

  20. Agent Taco Says:

Oooh, nice. Thanks! The wife loves San Fan style burritos, so that’s something to check out!

  21. The ManBat Says:

Agent M, if you’re ever in downtown Jersey City and want to try awesome tacos for your reviews, check out: Taqueria Downtown
236 Grove Street, Jersey City, NJ. Love your reviews, keep up the great job of taking out the guess work finding good tacos in NYC!
